Why is the SKYWARN Net a vital part of the storm reporting
Gives Ham Radio Operators something to do during a storm
Provides an opportunity for Hams to tryout their radio for the first time
Provides a reliable means to convey storm information directly to the National Weather Service
I can check in to the Net and talk to other Hams during the storm
The most important reason to provide severe weather reports
Provides damage reports to the National Weather Service
Provides the National Weather Service with "on the ground" reports of what the storm is currently doing
Provides a record of where the storm has created impacts
Shows the National Weather Service that we have Ham Radio operators providing reports
To be a properly trained SYWARN member, the following are not needed
A licensed Ham Radio Operator
Have taken a NWS spotter training
Taken the SKYWARN Awareness training
Be able to provide reports on the local SKYWARN Net
A car to chase the storm location
