The Federal Opportunity Zones (OZs) program is a new community investment/ development incentive tool established by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.

While the greatest benefit for investors in the Opportunity Zone program is to invest immediately to take advantage of the full benefits of the program, there is still a benefit for OZ developments that aren't quite ready immediately.  If you are in investing in or developing a property in an OZ, what is your general timeline to break ground?

My OZ development is already underway
My project is nearly ready and will start this quarter (Q1 2019)
