What is the spectacular phenomenum that carved the landscape of the Laurentian mountain range in the area of Charlevoix?
Earthquake
Meteorite
Bulldozer Derby
Volcanic Eruption
Four hundred million years ago, a meteorite struck the area of Charlevoix, leaving a crater of 54-km in diameter. Though today no one could suspect such a cataclysmic shock ever happened so close to Quebec City, our iconic landscapes always hint.

At a little more than an hour's drive from Jean-Lesage International airport in Quebec City, the region of Charlevoix is also accessible by:
- Train
- Chartered bus
- Chartered plane, through Saint-Irenee regional airport

East of Quebec City, the way to Charlevoix quickly changes sceneries, almost suggesting traveling to another country! The mystery starts to unveil when the road dives into a postcard-like valley, nestled between river and mountains: Baie-Saint-Paul.

In the 1800's, wealthy Americans were looking for a place to cool-off from their blazing hot cities. Arriving on great white ships, they quickly fell in love with the region and its welcoming residents.

As Americans started to build their own summer homes, one visionnary man had the idea to build a luxurious hotel, to welcome more visitors. From then, hospitality became tradition.

In 2018, this tradition made its way to the international scene, allowing Charlevoix to host the G7 Summit. Top world-leaders were invited to discuss preeminent global challenges at Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu, in La Malbaie.

I’m not a school, but students from all around the world come to learn more with me.
I am the inheritance of an eminent business man from the early 1900's.
I gaze upon the St. Lawrence River.
What venue am I?
Domaine Forget de Charlevoix
Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu
The Musée Maritime de Charlevoix
The Train de Charlevoix
Charlevoix is filled with unique venues that allow you to experience the cultural heritage of the region, along with the picture-perfect views.

If we were to find one synonym for "legacy", it would be Domaine Forget. Named after Sir Rodolphe Forget, founder of the railway connecting Quebec City to La Malbaie, this property sits on 150 acres of pure natural beauty, gazing upon the St. Lawrence River. Boasting a concert hall worthy of the greatest symphonic houses in the world, its various facilities can accomodate several types of business events: closing ceremony or gala, board of directors meeting, annual convention, yoga retreat, wedding, etc.
