The UN's highest court, the International Court of Justice (ICJ), ruled this week that the United States must ease some sanctions against Iran, specifically those that allow for the import of humanitarian goods, and those that affect civil aviation safety.  Iran pled its case based on the 1955 Treaty of Amity, which promotes economic and consular ties between it and the U.S.
