What type of Procrastinator am I?
When I have a task to complete that makes me feel overwhelmed, the first thing I do is:
Distract myself by doing something that is less stressful
Pull out my planner and try to get all of the details mapped out
Launch into the work without stopping until it is just right
Research what needs to be done, map out a strategy, allocate the appropriate amount of time time, and complete the project with time to spare so that it can be refined if necessary
add it to my long to do list, and work on it little by little, along with the rest of my projects
When I start a new project and I don’t know exactly how to get it done, I:
Ignore it until the deadline is looming
Research all of the details incessantly until the deadline is approaching, then get started
Research how to get it done, but start the project and make changes as I go until it is just right. This often delays the project and i don’t submit until the deadline
Research the details that will move the project forward, trying not to get too caught up in the details
put it on my long list and start working on it without researching how to get it done. I will figure it out as I go along
When it comes to hard tasks or projects, I:
avoid starting and can only bring myself to start once a deadline is approaching
lean in to hard tasks, but spend most of my time planning/preparing to start them and never get around to it until the last minute
lean into hard tasks, but spend a lot of time doing and re-doing the task that I struggle to get it done on time
lean into hard tasks, spend some time researching, and then map out a strategy to work on the task so that it is done with time to spare
lean into hard tasks but continue all of the other tasks on my list
I spend most of my days doing:
A whole lot of nothing-I can’t seem to get stuff done effectively
Planning, researching, and preparing to complete my tasks
Doing the nitty gritty details of all of my tasks/assignments
A mix of planning, doing, and revising my tasks
lots of different tasks. I stay busy and multitasking is my specialty
The last time that I completed a passion project that didn’t have a deadline (was birthed from a desire I wanted to fulfill) was:
Never/it’s been a long time. I have lots of thoughts and ideas, but can’t move past the idea stage
Never/it’s been a long time. I have the plan in the works and begin the process, but get overwhelmed and stop
Never/it’s been a long time. I am constantly working on one/many passion projects, but can’t seem to get it started
I often complete passion projects
I have multiple passion projects, but nothing ever really fully gets off the ground
If a deadline is looming,
I wait until the last possible minute to finish the project or task
I try to get organized and plan out the process for completing the steps, until the last possible minute
I never feel like the task is perfect-I continue making changes and revisions until the last possible minute
I am able to submit the project with time to spare
I continue doing all of the tasks that are on my list, but end up rushing on the main task at the last minute
When I submit a project or assignment:
it turns out well in the end, but I always feel that I should have started earlier
