Are you clear around what you do - the problem your business addresses and the solution it provides?
Yes. I am very clear on both and I can communicate it in one sentence!

Are you clear around who your business is for - your ideal client?
I have a very focused ideal client and I spend all of my time and money trying to reach only that client profile.

I am selling anything to anyone at this point to just try to bring in revenue. I do not have focus.
Are you clear around the scale on which you want to grow - local, regional, national, global?
Yes. I have a clear vision around scaling my business and I really believe it is the best one long-term to achieve success.
I kind of know where I am going but I am not sure if it’s the best strategy long-term to achieve success.
I haven’t really started thinking about my future plans to scale.
Do you know what your company look like in 5 years and what your role is within it?
Yes. I have a clear vision around the future of my company and my role within it.

I am very clear about what I am working towards.

TEAM
Are you using your skill set properly?
I am. Everyday I get to work on the things I am best at.
Most of the time. Sometimes I still do work that fall outside of my experience level.
I’m not entirely sure what it is I am best at when it comes to growing my business.
Could you go away for a week and have your company continue to operate?
Totally. I trust my current team and their ability to take care of business.
So-so. I’m am still involved in the operations side of things and leaving would cause quite a bit of disruption.
I can’t go away for a week. If I did, the company would also have to shut down during that time.
Do you have anyone on your current team that you trust and who could take on more and do more?
Yes. I have the right team members, the only things stopping them from taking on more might be my hesitation to step away.
Only partially. There are still areas of my business where I don’t have enough capacity.
Not really. I don’t feel like anyone on my team would be interesting in taking on more responsibilities.
Are you communicating and working together efficiently as a team?
Very much so. Everyone is very clear around their roles and responsibilities and their contribution to our common goal.
Could be better. We don’t have the right structure around effectively collaborating even though we are clear around our common goal.
Not really, There is clear lack of structure around how we effectively collaborate together and a lack of focus towards achieving our common goal.
Is your team motivated and offered proper incentives to perform?
I really think so! I believe in my team and their capabilities. I offer clear professional growth opportunities to those who perform which seem to be keeping them motivated.
Although I do offer professional growth opportunities, my current team doesn’t really seem too interested in what I’m offering or motivated to take on more responsibilities.
I’ve never really set clear incentives or professional growth opportunities to anyone on my current team.
CUSTOMER ACQUISITION
Do you know where your customers are coming from?
Absolutely. I am able to track and I understand what actions are generating new business for us.
Partially. We’ve been able to track certain of our efforts but we don’t currently have the full picture.
Not really. I am not entirely sure what efforts are reaching and generating new business at the moment.
Do you know how much it costs you to get a new customer?
I do! We are tracking our activities closely enough that we clearly understand the costs associated around acquiring a new customer.
I have a general idea. We’ve been able to start breaking down some general costs associated with customer acquisition but not all.
The straight answer is no. I wouldn’t be able to tell you what are the costs associated with acquiring a new customer.
Is your time being spent in the most efficient way possible?
Totally. I am working smart and effectively prioritizing my time.
Most of time. There is definitely room for improvement here.
I’m not entirely sure on what most of my time is spent on right now.
Do you understand your customers purchasing journey including a clear upsell and downsell strategy?
I do. I am clear around my customers lifetime value.
So - So. I have a clear strategy, however many opportunities still fall through the cracks.
I don’t. I am still working on getting a grasp on all of this.
Are you doing a good job of taking care of and keeping the customers you have?
We are doing a great job with customer retention and have a great support system in place.
Half-half. Our attrition rate is still quite high.
Poorly. Our attrition rates are way over industry average and our customer service needs a lot of work.
OPERATIONS
Do you know what 3 company costs you would cut if you could?
I do. I am very clear around our cost centers and where we could potentially cut costs.
Somewhat. I have a vague idea but I don’t fully understand my numbers.
Still a mystery. Anything having to do with numbers is something I still struggle with.
Do you know of 3 services or tools you could you start using to systematize your operations more efficiently?
I do. I’ve conducted research on this and I know which tools we need to help systematize our operations.
I’ve explored some options but I don’t currently have enough information to make an informed decision.
I don’t know. I haven’t had the time to look into this yet since most of my time is spent in operations still.
Do you operate with deadlines and goals in place?
We do. Everyone on our team is clear around our company goals, prioritizes their actions and established deadlines around it.
We do. However, our daily actions are not always grounded in these goals and we sometimes miss important deadlines.
I wish. We are reacting to what’s happening most of the time and don’t have a clear picture around goals and deadlines.
Do you have clear roles and responsibilities for each of your team members?
Very clear. Everyone clearly understand their role, contribution and individual responsibilities.
Although some of our team members have very clear roles and responsibilities, not all of them do at this time.
To be honest, we have never taken the time to clearly define everyone roles and responsibilities.
Do you know where could you eliminate the need to make more decisions and delegate more efficiently?
I do and I am actively working on delegating more everyday and empowering my employees to make decision without my input.
I am halfway there. I haven’t been able to crack the whole code on delegating effectively yet.
I’m not entirely sure what area or decision I could delegate at the moment.
CAPITAL
Do you know what your monthly overhead is?
Yes. I know exactly what my monthly overhead is.
I kind of do. I have a general idea of my monthly overhead but I haven’t taken the time to calculate the exact numbers.
No. I don’t know what my monthly overhead is and I am not entirely sure how to calculate it all.
Do you know what your most profitable product or service is?
I do. I’ve clearly identified all of my revenue stream and I know which one is the most profitable.
I think I do. I ‘m not certain I have a clear picture on where most of my revenue comes from.
I don’t know what product or services is performing the best.
Do you know what was your total profit last year, last quarter and last month?
Of course! I know exactly how much profit we made at any given time.
I have a vague idea. I don’t know in that level of details how much profit I made and when I made it.
I don’t know. My financials are a total mess.
Do you know how much money you need to spend to grow your business?
Yes, I do. I know exactly how money I need to spend to grow my business.
Not really. I don’t have enough insight to know specifically but I can make an estimate based on my past experience.
I don’t know. I need a lot more clarity around my financials to know how much is needed.
Have you explored ways to access capital?
I have. I’ve identified a couple of option that could work in case I need more capital.
